Closely aligned with the National Alumni Association, the Florida Region advances the University’s interests through advocacy, outreach, and financial support — mobilizing alumni involvement, strengthening chapter leadership, and cultivating partnerships that promote educational access, diversity, and institutional excellence.

Through initiatives focused on the F.R.I.G. Framework, the Region transforms mission into action — ensuring alumni are not only connected to FAMU’s legacy, but actively contributing to its future.

The Florida Region History

Founded in 1997.

The Florida Region of the FAMU National Alumni Association exists to promote the shared success and advancement of Florida Agricultural & Mechanical University, its alumni, former students, and all who remain devoted to the institution.

Founded as a collective expression of gratitude, the association is committed to strengthening and supporting our alma mater — ensuring its continued vitality while preserving the cherished memories and legacy of our FAMU experience.

As the largest regional structure within the FAMU National Alumni Association, the Florida Region was established in 1997 and currently includes 36 chapters. These chapters span the entire state — from the white Gulf Coast beaches of Pensacola to the Atlantic shores of Jacksonville, from the capital region of the Big Bend to Florida’s southernmost cities and counties.

The Florida Region is made up of the Florida A&M University National Alumni Association chapters located throughout the state of Florida.

No. Regular membership generally applies to those who attended at least one term at FAMU, and Associate Membership is available for friends and supporters who did not attend.

Your dues help support alumni engagement and the broader purpose of the Association—fundraising for FAMU, community service, positive public relations, recruitment support, and advocacy aligned to University priorities.

Annual membership includes $50 national dues, plus $10 Florida Region dues, plus any applicable chapter dues.

Life Membership is a one-time national assessment; annual members renew yearly. Life and subscribing life options do not include local/regional dues—those may still apply.
